Introduction
Welcome to my 100th issue. I have changed the name slightly because I wanted to get away from the ‘weekly’ title. I have no intention to change from weekly schedules, but it gives me more flexibility to add updates. I also switched from links to ‘links and learning’ to reflect the research posts and events that I add.
I’m not very creative-minded in terms of naming so wanted something that reflected what I do. I may make some more minor changes. I had considered adding some more reflections of my own, for example, but that might have to wait a little. I’d really welcome and suggestions and the kind of content that you like so please do drop a comment if you are able as it would be great to hear what you think of this.
I am revisiting my purpose and aims here, particularly for new joiners. My intent is to share new, interesting links that I come across each week. It isn’t intended to be exhaustive. I had initially tried just to share 2 links per section but some warrant more (particularly the blogs/articles and policy/reports - as well as the events). I tend to add new things so won’t repeat events or articles unless there is a specific reason. I add at least two new open access research articles. I know they are probably the least popular part of the newsletter (because I see the clicks!) but I think it’s good to havthe of research for when it’s needed! I try and mix things up a bit so it’s not the same sites I am sharing each week. The events I add are all free and online (unless I specifically state it and often they are events I sign up for myself). I’ve added the ‘quote of the week’ as I find random things I come across that help with my thinking and hope you like it too - and my pot luck choices are opportunities to share things that I find interesting that aren’t necessarily linked to social work!
I’d love to hear your reflections and thoughts on where we’ve got to after 100 editions and thank you for joining me on this journey.
